Man Turns 1,000 Selfies From Vacation In Costa Rica Into Amazing Video

Costa Rica continúa al frente como uno de los destinos predilectos de los viajeros a nivel mundial

German photographer Tim Abmann documented his trip to Costa Rica this fall using 1,000 selfie pictures, starting from Manhattan, to the airport, all over Costa Rica and then back to New York.
The selfies were then compiled into a two-hour and 37-minute movie featuring images of Tim at the beach, on a hike, in the middle of a crowded street or hanging by a waterfall.
According to the New York Daily News, the 33-year-old’s film consists of 23 days worth of events, all between September and October.
Abmann said his first selfie film used a much shorter album from a trip to Ireland in August.
“I always loved old fashioned flip books and the way they describe a movement with only a limited amount of pictures,” he said.
“And actually I always kind of disliked the habit of most of the people in online communities and social networks to take selfies in the weirdest positions and facial expressions, and placing them as profile (pictures). So I thought it would be fun to cartoon those selfie photographs in some kind of odd manner.”
The selfies were originally just taken for amusement, he added, even though a much more elaborate project emerged.
“I have to admit it was quite some fun taking picture of myself during that trip, especially when finding out which creative potential lies within those pictures,” he said. “But to be honest, at the end of the day, it was all just for the fun of it.”
The photographer and filmmaker told the Daily News that his trip consisted of journeys through the rainforest, kayaking along the Pacific, snorkeling, whale watching, surfing, climbing volcanoes, pretty much everything you wish you were doing right now.
Not documented is the most dangerous part of the trip, Abmann said, when he picked up a tiny frog he later found out was poisonous.
Adding an unexpected degree of humor and realism to the film is Abmann’s friend Dominic Romanowski from Stuggart, Germany, who photobombed his way into stardom throughout the trip.
“At first I encouraged that, after a while there was no holding back and he did it all on his own,” he said. “Most of the time I even did not recognize him doing stuff in the background. So that was kind of fun, when I screened the photo material back home.”
